The information I had showed only a couple of hundred children getting Hepatitis B but it was a one sided article arguing against mandatory vaccination and it was a single source so in retrospect I hung too much of my argument on the claim.

Hepatitis B vaccination of children is not a particular pet peeve of mine. If I was a parent I'd have to research it more carefully. But I do think it is a bit much to take children away from their parents if the parent wont vaccinate them against this particular disease. Its not mandatory in every state but I haven't seen a health crisis in the states that don't mandate it.

The most obviously stupid case of government action shown in my link wasn't the vaccination case but rather the first case where they tried to force the kid to take AZT. I also have some concern about the number of kids who are prescribed Ritalin. I'm not saying it cannot be helpful but I fear there may be too much pressure to give it to kids and I don't think that it is always beneficial or even harmless.
