Miltope Receives $16 Million Defense System Integration Award
MONTGOMERY, Ala., March 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Miltope Group Inc., (Nasdaq: MILT - news) announces the award of a U.S. Army contract in the amount of approximately $16.2M for the integration of over 2,000 Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) test systems to be used in conjunction with the Soldiers Portable On-system Repair Tool (SPORT) computer.
This integration effort for SPORT-ICE expands the Army's ability to perform automatic test, diagnostics and maintenance of diesel engines on every wheeled and tracked vehicle as well as tactical generators. Special system diagnostic interfaces such as J1708, J1939 and dual multimeter capability are provided. Miltope continues to solidify their presence within the Army's Test and Diagnostic community with supporting the highly reliable and successful SPORT and SPORT-ICE programs.
The Miltope SPORT computer is a compact and lightweight handheld system used for diagnostics, maintenance, and IETM (interactive electronic technical manuals) delivery across every Army weapon system as well as for all wheeled and tracked vehicle platforms. The handheld computer is fully operable under extreme high and low temperature conditions and it's color display is completely readable in direct sunlight making it the Army's most complete diagnostic and maintenance system available for use by the Soldier Technician in the tactical environment.
