Personally, I hope gasoline DOES cost $3/gallon this summer. There is no excuse for America to still be reliant on fossil fuels now, thirty years after the last big energy crisis. We all knew then that we should drive smaller cars, conserve energy, and invest massively in alternative energy sources. Instead, we've started driving bigger and bigger SUVs, and allowed Reagan to Department of Energy's alternative-energy research budget by 90%. 90%! California has some excellent forward-thinking laws that will convert the state to electric vehicles in the next decade. Let's just hope that Dubya's puppetmasters don't manage to get those laws revoked in the name of National Security or whatever. Dave
