I was not a big fan of Buy/Writes these past two years; mostly because the market had been too bullish. When I did such a Strategy I preferred to merely write Puts. Same deal, really. Only it's one trade instead of two.

I know several people who did well with Buy/Writes but all of them were crushed last Autumn. One really needs a solid stock to pull it off. If you like those two to at least stay stable then at this point in the equation it may not be a bad strategy. I tend to favor a gradual incline in the Indicies this year. Last Spring I never would have considered such a strategy but with this correction it does not seem like a bad idea. Even if the broad market does nothing then you pocket premium.

The other thing you have going for you is the Relative Strength of the Biotech Index versus the Nasdaq. It appears much stronger so any momentum in a rally would most likely show strength in there over any other given Nasdaq Sector. I do not follow those stocks, but it certainly seems like a worthwhile shot. Good Luck if you decide to do it.

It's too bad that you have to go so far to have the operation. If you eventually decide to have it performed I think you will be happy long term. My eyes were quite bad, so for me it was a GodSend.

Good Luck there as well.
