Or is it overweening male confidence in this ability to be the causative agent on such occasions? And by a hand on the knee yet!

Thank you for the welcome- the feelings of disassociation and separation are diminishing, but it was a bad few days. My husband tells me I didn't wake him last night typing my password on his stomach and screaming, "Let me log on, godamn it!" so I think the worst is over.
