Greenspurt blew it!

Not necessarily Joe. Several indicators and pundits have been saying for a few weeks now that the economy has actually already begun its rebound. I think the half point was not only prudent, but, in reality, expected. Of course it remains to be seen whether the market eventually accepts it. An excerpt from an email I received earlier this morning 'splains it best IMHO:

"However, 75 basis points would also signal that the Fed is still very worried about the future, whereas 50 basis points would indicate that the Fed believes the economy is starting to improve. So from a long-term perspective, 50 basis points may actually be better for the market because it shows that the economy is still on track to rebound in the second half of the year, whereas 75 basis points leaves the outlook in limbo."
