PCCW May Write Off US$200 Mln Dotcom Investments : iMail Mar 21, 2001 - 09:13:50 HKT Quamnet News Service Pacific Century CyberWorks (0008) could write off up to US$200 million (HK$1.56 billion) in dotcom investments and HK$188 billion in goodwill in its first post-merger results due next week, the Hong Kong iMail reported, citing analysts. PCCW's portfolio of investment has plunged 38 percent, losing US$407 million, according to CLSA research. PCCW has lost US$318.9 million on its investment in CMGI and US$122.7 million on SoftNet, the report said. Investors will also watch closely how PCCW deals with HK$160 billion to HK$190 billion of goodwill from its merger with Hong Kong Telecom, the paper said. quamnet.com
