As you well know, the NASDAQ is heavy on the R&D side. IP, so far, isn't included in book value.

That's both a good and a bad thing.

All the same, all that IP, in many of NASDAQ's best companies will produce a far more significant ROI than will ever be seen from members of the NYSE.

Japan, for all practical purposes is moribund. I doubt whether most rational investors would say the same of the US or the NASDAQ.
