Don, I think you problem is that you think that SGI is in the PC Industry. The solution space for SGI is workstations and servers and mega compute systems. SGI servers are in the streaming media application space.

Now you also talk about my anti msft bias, to that I say you just don't get where I come from.

In technology for a technologist there is religion, preference and what's adequate. I actually recommend msft as a solution for those who I know can only cope with adequate solutions. My assessment of msft is based on my analysis of adequate and my words get colored by my preference and my religion. msft has nowhere to expand at every front alternative superior product will wean away the adequatites or greatly slow or stagnate growth in those who are quite willing to live with adequate. Another way of saying it is that the msft suckiness quotient is increasing over time. msft is currently castrated in the pursuit of competition crushing practices in moving into new areas.
Vere importantly msft is lead by a team justifying why they did not screw anybody.

Now I think they did and many think they did not but it matters not what did happened and msft is lead by a team justifying why they did not screw anybody.

I believe that msft does not have a plan to generate revenue to support the current P/e and I don't see any change soon.
So is msft more or less likely to go to 100 than sgi is go to 10. I know where I will place my bets.

I also use msft words as I know where you live and what you think in certain ways and I aim to tweak.
