Spytrdr,
I know you have been a constant defender of QCharts, but you have also steadfastly been in denial about all the problems that are reported here. Personally, I find it somewhat insulting that you imply that people reporting the problems don't know what they're talking about. I can only conclude that if you truly believe your data is 100% responsive, that you are simply not observant of, or don't care about the queuing problems that are common. Either that, or you've arranged your own private circuit and server with Quote.com.
I love this product, but the data service sucks bigtime. Today is the first day in over two weeks that I did NOT crash with QCharts. Usually I have about 20 crashes a day. Although the program stayed up and running, there were many times where the data froze or was delayed from anywhere from 0.5 seconds to 2.43 seconds. I frequently check with PingPlotter to be sure the connection is good and it is almost always exceptionally good to the Sunnyvale farms (near where I live), so the problem is clearly with the QC servers.
Your assumption that people have inadequate systems is not the case for me.. I have cable, an AMD 700, 128Meg RAM, and a 7200rpm disk. I do leave McAfee up and running. The pauses and surges in data are clearly observable.
I'm willing to put up with this for a short time in the hopes that Ravenquote is ready to work with the eSignal feed. Although I have given up all hope that QC management will do anything about the service, I intend to write to the top level executives to be sure they have been directly informed. I think Michael Watkins is correct; Quote.com will eventually go away.
P.S. You have a terrific web site. Nice job. |
