ACTV Adds Direct Marketing and Commerce Capabilities to Enhanced Media And Interactive Content

Donnelley Marketing to Provide Targeted Database Application, Vitessa To Provide Supply Chain and Commerce Support

NEW YORK, March 21 /PRNewswire/ -- ACTV, Inc. (Nasdaq: IATV - news), a leading digital media company, announced today that it will extend its value-added services to customers through new relationships with Donnelley Marketing, one of the nation's leading direct marketing solutions companies, and Vitessa, the leading provider of outsourced e-commerce solutions.

''Donnelley's marketing applications and Vitessa's e-commerce architecture support all our businesses, providing an intelligent data infrastructure foundation to drive new revenue opportunities for ACTV and our customers,'' says Kevin Sheridan, ACTV Executive Vice President. ''The combination enables ACTV to offer content providers a turnkey enhanced media solution that ties direct marketing and commerce opportunities to interactive programming over the television, Internet and other devices.''

ACTV will use Donnelley Marketing's MarketZone application to implement data warehousing and direct marketing services within its SpotOn, HyperTV with Livewire and Bottle Rocket product offerings. These services will initially be offered to programmers and advertisers through HyperTV with Livewire's enhanced media platform, which synchronizes Web content with television programming. In the future, they will be incorporated into interactive online and broadband games created by ACTV's Bottle Rocket subsidiary and personalized advertising enabled by SpotOn.

''MarketZone's powerful online analysis capability will allow programmers and advertisers to quickly access aggregate viewer data related to program and promotional offers delivered to HyperTV and Bottle Rocket users,'' says Michael Morreale, chief operating officer of Donnelley Marketing. ''Additionally, MarketZone's robust database warehousing, campaign management and e-marketing capabilities will transform initial HyperTV and Bottle Rocket sessions into long-term marketing relationships for ACTV's programming and advertising customers.''

ACTV will rely on Vitessa to enable e-commerce across its product offerings, initially within HyperTV with Livewire and Bottle Rocket sessions. Vitessa's Internet Product Code (VIPC) technology allows relevant offers to be placed within applicable HyperTV and Bottle Rocket content, giving each programmer and advertiser the ability to carry their branding throughout the process. The company's Merchant Exchange solution provides ACTV with an integrated platform of supply chain services including virtual inventory, fulfillment, returns management, commerce compliance, product warranty/service and consumer product rating.

''The convergence of e-commerce technology with interactive television creates a powerful new revenue stream for ACTV's programming and advertising clients,'' says John Boedecker, CEO of Vitessa. ''By integrating Vitessa eBusiness Services and utilizing Donnelley's MarketZone application, ACTV can offer targeted commerce opportunities during the television experience enabling clients to drive revenues over SpotOn, Bottle Rocket, and HyperTV and build closer relationships with ACTV's rapidly growing customer base.''
