When people have dreams about me.
For some reason, other people frequently have dreams that involve me, then tell me about them as if I should take heed of the message. I find their ignorance to be both amusing and somewhat bothersome at the same time. An example:
Several years ago my brother told me about a dream of his in which I was going blind. He was very concerned, and wanted me to take some immediate steps to insure that my sight remained. I tried to tell him that his dream was a message to him, not to me. "It came from your brain," I said. "You should try to figure out why your subconscious mind would create a world in which I am blind." He didn't understand.
Just recently, a work associate of mine told me during a business lunch that he had a dream in which I was fired. In his dream, I was not overly concerned and said something like, "I was expecting it anyway." Once again, he did not understand the concept that his dreaming about me being fired said more about him, his anxieties, motives, desires, etc., than it did about me.
Anyway, I like this subject. I remember most of my dreams, and they are usually straight out of a David Lynch movie. I would tell you about the one I had last night, but it is just too strange to share (as are most of them).
