Boeing to Move Out of Seattle

Mar 21 1:20pm ET

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Aerospace giant Boeing Co. on Wednesday said it will move its corporate headquarters out of Seattle as part of a plan to implement a leaner structure.

Boeing also named three new chief executives for its commercial, space and military and missile businesses.

The company said it is eyeing Chicago, Denver and Dallas/Ft. Worth for its new corporate center, noting it would make a final decision on the move by early summer. Boeing said it plans to have an operational center in the new headquarters by fall.

The new headquarters will employ about half the 1,000 employees currently working in the Seattle offices, Boeing said.

Boeing named Alan Mulally as president and CEO of Commercial Airplanes in Seattle; Jerry Daniels as president and CEO of Military Aircraft and Missile Systems in St. Louis, and Jim Albaugh as president and CEO of Space and Communications in Seal Beach, Calif.
