i like the lower pe/consistent growth chip makers....like atml,crus intc,xlnx.....all considered based on products and business fundamentals....in a slowing economy profitable companies with cash will survive...unprofitable with cash may burn through same and once its gone, they have no profits to replenish their spent cash...

will they go lower...yes, along with the market...but they will at some point trade higher....

one would be fooliish to think that the quality techs are trading today at their high point and will diminish into nothingness.....

the question is your time frame and risk tolerance...nothing wrong with nibbling on pull backs...particularly in issues that have some semblance of base forming....soxx index has stayed above its earlier lows....while the overall nasdaq has not...
