STDM is a "screaming buy". They have good technology having won NETWORK MAGAZINE's "Disk Array Product of the Year". They are in a 50%
growth area and even with earnings downgrade to $.43 for '97,they expect last quarter to be .27 vs .28. No cuts for '98 - $1.08. Most of the problems this quarter are simply related to lowering of prices for storage products (i.e. they had to mark down inventory) and they are working out something with their vendors, mainly Seagate to lessen these problems in the future. This stock could easily get back into the teens this year for a double. I'm going to hold and add if it weakens. PC-LAN and Windows NT are 50 % growth areas and the RAIDPro product launch sounds very promising. The more research I've done the better the stock looks at these low prices. A gem in the rough.
