open interest is created by floor traders willing to open new contracts. watch monday for new open interest, open interest changes once a day, around 8:30 am.

if a contract is bought,and is sold by someone holding the contracts the o/i will stay the same.

if someone who sold a contract decided to buy in his position it would reduced o/i
