JimL, hard to argue with your points except maybe on semantic grounds. I think we've already had pretty good proof of a hard landing in tech stocks. The question there is whether we can bring it in for a wheels up, belly plough slide or whether we flame out.

As far as the economy is concerned, I think maybe this is just what A. Greenspan wanted to see. In order to have a healthy continuing rate of growth in the economy the rate of growth had to slow below the geometric rise that it was taking, and a lot of inefficient dumb money had to get washed out. I think that has happened and now we can start to think about moving on IF we can get raw materials, including energy, and labor back in balance. Ed
