Different societies, different concerns.

Whether or not homosexuality affects the good order of society directly, pretending that it is "all the same" has the tendency of breaking down whatever remaining inhibitions there may be against infidelity, gross promiscuity, pushing lower the age of consent, and so forth. After all, if all that matters is what one feels, why deprive oneself?
