LOL I think the average Canadian is no more likely to be short than the average American. However, there are fewer restrictions on us, particularly with new issues.

I don't short stocks any more, but I certainly did - it was practically all I did. Can you blame me? Nasdaq was building a bubble of a generation. I chose to view it objectively instead of believing that "to the MOON!" and "its a new era" and "this time its different" were valid premises. You could say I did my due diligence.

DD is part of T/A. It helps to explain what is going on. You can't really do quality T/A without it.

I suppose I agree in some way to this, but the overall market direction or sector direction is very important. A trader to spends their time getting that right, can do quite well without resorting to fundamental analysis.

But its all about risk management... price shocks happen.
