Morningstar Investment Information Site Now Available in Hong Kong

CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 21, 2001--Morningstar, Inc., a leading provider of investment information and analytical tools, today announced that Morningstar Asia has launched a Web-based investment information service at www.hk.morningstar.com.

Morningstar Hong Kong's Web site content includes holdings-based portfolio analysis, unit trust and stock filters, and detailed analyses by Morningstar's local financial experts.

"We are bringing quality information to Hong Kong's marketplace where investors require in- depth information on mutual funds since the implementation of the Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) retirement system. "Our site will be an excellent resource for investors, offering them investment education and information on unit trusts and stocks from the most trusted source in the U.S. for more than 15 years."

Tao Huang, CEO of Morningstar Asia said, "The launch of our Morningstar Asia Web site is the first step in our effort to bring quality investment education and information to a region that is experiencing significant change in financial regulation. We will provide the insight and essential information Hong Kong investors need to make informed unit trust investment decisions."

Morningstar Asia was established in April 2000 as a joint venture between Morningstar, Inc., Pacific Century CyberWorks in Hong Kong, and Softbank Finance Corporation of Japan.
