Think of those who had found their style, and achieved consistent profitability in 1999-2000 market. They had something that worked, and worked well... Think of how hard it is on the ego to admit that the style which brought you great success now is failing. And to begin again to search for new patterns and styles that are working in the market of 2001. Having cut your teeth in a market that rewards agility and rapid adaptation, your skill set will be much more robust.
