I AVOIDED OPTICS PRECISELY BECAUSE OF THE BUBBLE

However, these stocks are never going to have multiples like insurance companies. In the realm of optics, AVNX has already gained a certain degree of credibility and this is backed by millions in sales to nearly a dozen customers, some very major.

Even 10 yrs ago, many techs enjoyed high multiples, not like during the bubble of course, but nonetheless quite high.

During the bubble, Nortel, LU and others would walk in and pay 1 billion plus, usually in stock, for optics companies often having nothing more than some a handful of engineers, some good but unproven ideas and sketches, w.o. even full working prototypes. AVNX has gone far beyond that.

Just like so many failed to realize the bubble, now they fail to realize the bargain prices some of these stocks have reached.
