Hi Ron, It is funny that I recall reading in Canadian Business just last year the article on the top performing companies. Wi-Lan was one of their top picks and they were bragging that they told us all about it the year before. I guess they are more about selling newspaper with hype (both ways). They are no better than those that they accuse. If I were them I would not have singled out one of their top picks ... that just made their editor look dumb.

I agree with many of the writer's points on analyst conflict of interest and such. I think he is bang on regarding several points though maybe a bit too cynical. My major criticism of the article is that he didn't present a balanced view point. I don't think that all analysts are in conflict and hypesters ... just most of them.

I guess Millham should hire the lawyer who sued Stockwell or some bottom feeder. Defamation suits will now be more popular. That case should have been thrown out but the lawyers and judges (ex-lawyers) may be in conflict. So much for freedom of speech and objective reporting.

Regarding Wi-Lan I have not felt better about where the company is heading. I feel good that the company will outperform its peers significantly over the next five. That is the story but CB didn't bother to find out.
