first mate-

tell swabby that what makes a sloop a sloop is the way the sails are attached and the number of them. a sloop has one big sail attached to a tall pole sticking up out of the middle of the roof and one sail attached to a wire that runs from the top of the pole (or near the top) down to the pointy end of the boat. my boat is "sloop" rigged.

where the name "sloop" comes from, i don't know, but i'm sure dalin could make up a funnie story about that.

a sheet is the string attached to the bottom of the sail that holds the wind in the sail. if the wind yanks it out of yer hands when yer tying it down it's called losing the "sheet to the wind". if it happens three times, you've had your full share of grog for the day. hence, the saying, "three sheets to the wind" <true story>

speakin' of CDs. we were, weren't we? one is on the way to yer office. if it seems overdone, it's because i burned it - i musta left it in too long... there's a funnie warbling bass sound in the first part of track 4... but it's still a fair trade because of the last elm street you sent me that had so many anorexic chicks in it.

belated happy st. paddy's day.
