Richard Li declines to comment on reports about his credentials

Richard Li, chairman of Pacific Century CyberWorks (0008-HK), said that he had proposed to Cable & Wireless a plan on divesting PCCW stakes held by the UK-based telecom group. However, C&W had not accepted the plan possibly due to the low price and the group is focusing on the disposal of Australia's Optus. He said C&W had agreed with PCCW when it makes any decisions, according to the Sing Tao Daily.

He stressed that the company will not work on buying any PCCW stakes held by C&W with his father Li Ka-shing.

Mr Li has refused to comment on reports suggesting that he had not graduated from Stanford University with a degree in computer engineering and said he had not read the report.
