Doug: That does look like an interesting site! Quant Ill try to check it out in depth tonight when the wife is off my back.
Not a good day here.

I know Barrons (paper version) list short interest but do not know how old the information is. I have never been able to find it on the on- line version. Maybe I need to look over the on-line version a bit closer just to make sure.

Knowing the short interest in a stock is VERY important as it would indicate how a stock will behave when there is reason for big movements either up or down.

Do you know of any pay sites that list Short interest?
Here is one site I have but the information is about a month or so behind:
nasd.com
I used this site to determine that OPTS had almost NO short interest before its recent run up. Knew that Short covering was NOT going to add to the stock price. I bet the short interest in OPTS is MUCH higher now then a month ago!

We can get the Insider Buying info, NEWS, fundimentals, charting,etc..
One big part that we are missing with every stock is the Short Interest.
I really do need to work on this.Would Help in making better stock picks, and better Idea of where and how a stock should behave.

Good Luck and let me know if you find a site, free or paid, that offers more up to date information

Later

PS: Came back to edit this letter: Iceberg says that Wallstreet Interactive interactive4.wsj.com
Has the short interest info. I checked in real quick. Looks like $49 a year. I already pay for Dow jones and edgar. Maybe I will drop one and add this.
Do you know a source for FREE up to date "insider buy" information?
Thats one of many things I like about Dow Jones retrieval.
The NEWS is great there too! Maybe I will drop Edgar. ahh, who knows....

Anyway, keep in touch!
