I have no idea what you are talking about. The large cache chips make little sense in absence of dual chipsets / motherboards. All the discussions about the need, lack of the need, demand from OEMs, cancellations, re-emergence are completely irrelevant in absence of chipsets / motherboards.

With the imminent release of 760 MP, the only question is how high AMD wants to aim, and how much resources they want to spend. I doubt that AMD will achieve high return on investment on the large L2 parts. It is just a loss leader IMO.

PS: What I find amazing about chips like the Cascades P6 is that the entire DOS memory space + 1 MB of extended memory will fit in the L2 cache.
