we are getting to maximum pain level on peoples portfolio--that is people in the green since late 1998 are now seeing red---this is a key component to a panic--a very important one i gather. per bearmarket analysis we are in stage 2 when a little light-bulb flashes in investors heads that the trend is in the wrong direction and all the talkin heads saying all is o.k. that they had used for comfort and reason to buy or hold now become people they curse at---Panic almost invariably is sudden and in my view IMPOSSIBLE not to recognize when it happens---my firm view is if at the end of the day people are CONJECTURING if this was True Capitulation then you KNOW it was NOT capitulation.max
