I believe it is taboo for a reason.
Indeed it is, and for the same reason sex with animals is taboo. Some people aim to avoid the problem of bestiality by claiming an animal cannot give consent and so, they say, human sex with animals is wrong. This same line of thinking makes neutering an animal wrong, it makes removing an animal's claws wrong, clipping its fur wrong, clipping its ears, bobbing its tail-- all wrong. Indeed, it makes virtually anything we commonly do to animals all wrong because the animals allegedly cannot give consent for it. Truly, the utter ridiculousness of proscribing sex with animals is made obvious when we see how animals struggle against our giving them baths, neutering them and doing other horrid things to them for our own purposes, and yet by physical appearances we are able to see they struggle not in the least to have sex with humans. Surely some animals welcome sex with humans just as they welcome being fed by humans, yet we claim such sex unacceptable and all the clearly hated activities acceptable. We are, of course, being dishonest.
There is but one reason why sex with animals is wrong-- it is a gross distortion of human nature, just as is homosexuality and polygamy. |
