RE BTB. Of course it can be higher. All it takes is for Billings to fall faster than Orders did for the comparison between November and February. As I've repeatedly complained, a higher BTB under such circumstances isn't necessarily stronger except as an indicator that we're at or near the bottom for this cycle. But clearly, we can expect to see lower bookings and lower billings as well as a BTB well below 1.

Strength in semis IMO related to the MU Inventory news yesterday as well as the DRAM price stability. I don't understand the Semi equipment strength at the end of the day. It may be short covering by the professionals (including AdvocateDevil, of course![vbg}) perhaps triggered by the FOMC minutes comment re strengthening business prospects as the year progresses. It may just be the VIX signifying too much bearishness in the market causing the professionals to play a rally.

I admit I'm baffled and will have to rely on someone much smarter than I to explain what happened this afternoon.
