Well, there was the time when I was on the tiller. It was a beautiful afternoon - we were on our way home by way of Georgeson Pass, after spending the night moored in a lovely little cove in the Gulf Islands. We were running with a very low tide, must have been doing at least 8 knots. Narrow little passes always make me nervous and I wanted to get through that sucker fast. Well, we misread the chart. We hit that reef with the bottom third of our keel that stopped us dead in our tracks. Damn, I hate it when that happens. They say that particular reef is blue from all the bottom paint it has on it. I'll tell you a happy story next time. rhoze
