Oh dear. Your note on Arch Crawford immediately brought to mind a paragraph in Elder's "Trading for a Living":

"The 'perfect order' crowd gravitates to astrology and looks for links between prices and the movements of the planets. Most mystics [among traders] try to hide their astrological bent, but it is easy to draw them out of a shell. Next time someone talks to you about natural order in the markets, ask him about astrology. He will probably jump at the chance to come out of the closet and talk about the stars."

Oh well -- I'm sure astrologers are just as suspicious of psychologists.

I recently found a book by Pring on the psychology of trading, by the way: "Investment Psychology Explained: Classic Strategies to Beat the Markets."
