Hi pompsander; Re: "In your earlier post, or it was Dan3, it was acknowledged that the JEDEC defense is pretty much destroyed here."
This is a Rambus dream, it has no connection to reality. Find me a single link which shows that Infineon claimed that they were unaware of the structure of RDRAM. Rambus was telling everybody in the world about it, they were putting it in everybody's faces, of course everybody knew what an RDRAM looked like. What you guys are arguing here is that since Infineon tried to avoid Rambus' patents, then it must be the case that Infineon should have to pay on those patents. Go and read the jury instructions from Rambus. This point is explicitly covered, it is not illegal (or even immoral) for a company to try and avoid infringing on the patents of another company. In fact, that's just good business.

P.S. As usual, I'm not going to tell you guys who I work for. All it could do would be to create hassles for me, there's no upside. As I've said before, my purpose here is entertainment. I'm not trying to save the world (or mom and pop). If you guys want to assume that I'm short RMBS from the $435 high and have made a huge bundle, go ahead. The fact is that I've repeatedly stated that I believe that this thread, (and my posting in particular), has absolutely no effect on the stock price. I'm here for my own amusement, and, in the end, to tell you guys that you were wrong and I was right. That's why I collect up wrong headed posts like these Timna gems: #reply-14583539 |
