It's well known that the cable has the problem you are talking about, because everyone in your neighborhood is connected together and sharing the same bandwidth. In a cdma system, my understanding is that there would be no degredation in speed unless the number in the same cell downloading at the same time exceeded the capacity of the cell on the data bandwidth. There is both a code division and a time division of packet going on simultaneously. Engineer, can you help explain it?

I do know someone who had richochet here in the Dallas area, and she reported it was virtually an instant connection and downloading was really fast. She quoted speeds I didn't believe. I thought richochet was getting maybe 128 but she said over 300. Her business is internet and so she is on virutally all day.
