But if there is a way to squeeze 4-8% of cost out of a major overhead item, can a company afford NOT to do it? Their competition will certainly do it. One little item I read said Cisco's system paid for itself in 5 months. And if this economic slowdown we are seeing causes companies to postpone their IT spending, that doesn't mean they have rejected the concept entirely.
