Proxim, Netopia End Merger Talks

SUNNYVALE, Calif. (Dow Jones)--Proxim Inc. (PROX, news, msgs) and Netopia Inc. (NTPA, news, msgs) terminated their agreement and plan of reorganization, citing "current market conditions."

In a press release Friday, the companies said the agreement ends without payment of any termination fees.

In January, Proxim agreed to acquire Netopia in a stock transaction that valued Netopia at about $223 million.
