Art, I think it will be interesting to see...

...what hybrid devices evolve over time. It will be a process of trial
and error in determining which devices are accepted or rejected
by the consumer. One trend which I hope will continue is the use
of blank, rewriteable flash media (with or without security) and the
availablility of downloadable content one can tailor to personal taste.

The notion of "disposable" field programmable non-volatile memory
goes against the general trend of the Internet and e-commerce as
it melds content to hardware and does not allow timely updating.

I am seeing most medical content tailored to the Palm OS and much
of it is free or available with a yearly subscription (all you can eat).
I think Microsoft has its work cut out for themselves in promoting their
Pocket PC platform for the business (non-recreational) environment.
