Kevin, they probably excagerate there cost somewhat, Also you figures don't work out. You say that you have paid $300-400 per month at $.13 and that it would be $1400 per month at $.27.

My other question: HAS THE COST OF PRODUCING ENERGY RISEN BY THIS RATE? The answer is NO. The reason is simple: energy producers are running rampant, and are in danger of ruining our economy.

They are making nice profits but they aren't running rampant. Also the charges for electricity production are not a large percentage of the GDP. The costs have gone up because the price paid by the eventual consumer is limited but the price paid by the distributers/utilities is not. So demand for electricity remains high. Also supply has been limited. New plants have been produced but capacity increases in CA have been slowed by environmental red tape and NIMBYism.

However, when are the robber barons going to be stopped? Bush won't stop them. Don't you realize that the people with the knife to OUR throats are these monopolies?

The power producers are not monopolies. But there are regulatory restrictions in their favor which should be removed.

Tim
