We're arguing in circles. My position: fewer guns, fewer crimes. Yours: fewer guns, more crimes.

I will comment on the statement:

"However, these regrettable numbers of lives lost need to be put into some perspective with the other risks children face."

That is such HORSE PUCKY. Risks are CUMULATIVE, so removing some reduces overall risk of harm. The converse of this stupid argument is: why not let kids play with fireworks? They're more likely to die in a car wreck, anyway. That's life.

An idiotic way of looking at the risks to the lives of our kids.
