Hi Aurum,

The source of the quote you were referring to was Paul Joseph Goebbels who was Hitler's chief propagandist. A former Jesuit, Goebbels' intelligence was undeniable and he possessed brilliant insight into mass psychology. As a hypnotic orator, he was second only to Hitler and in his staging of mass meetings and parades he was unsurpassed. By exploiting mob emotions and by employing all modern methods of propaganda he helped Hitler into power. Goebbels was given complete control over radio, press, cinema and theatre and eventually regimented all German culture. It was he who once said that the chances of a lie being believed were directly proportional to the magnitude of the lie. In other words, the bigger the lie, the greater is the likelihood of its being believed to be true. Because of Goebbels, Nazi propaganda was immensely successful
im der Vaterland (Deutschland) in the late 30s and early 40s.
