Btw: I am as paranoid about bike accidents with my kids; I don't let them ride alone yet (oldest is 10), and drownings (our pool has a hard cover that is always closed unless an adult is supervising). I even worry about them choking on hot dogs, and often cut the hotdogs into incredibly small pieces.

Dang! Man I have a ten year old and the guy rides his bike every dang where-- all alone!

You are gonna croak when I tell you this, but-- and now brace yourself---- he has a gun. (OOOOOOOOOHHH!!!! AHHHHHHHH!!!! HEEEELLLLP!!!!!!! HEEEELLLLP!!!!!!!)

In fact he has a couple of guns that he uses depending upon the sort of shooting he will being doing for the day.

He jumps into our pool and low and behold he doesn't drown at all! Heck, the dang kid even knows how to eat a friggin hotdog without my having to cut it up. FANCY THAT!!

I don't know about you, my friend. I'm thinkin either something's wrong with your kid, or maybe you're being just a wee bit neurotic. Maybe you should lighten up and let your kid live a little.

Now I tell ya what I'm gonna do to help you. Give me your address. I'll send my son over on his bike. He'll bring his guns to show your 10 year old, and then maybe the two of them can go out for a swim after which they can enjoy a coupla hotdogs (grin).
