'"how celto-iberian of you!"' - lol ... actually they are reputed to mutter in the tourist areas from time to time 'Fing krauts', although of course in their two-millennia-adapted form of latín ... do you know gallego jokes? ... the newfie jokes of el mundo latino ... just search altavista with +gallego +chistes ... here's one - bettina.com.ar ... a gallego being a native of the province of Galicia, but the term tends to denote in the Américas anybody from Spain ... lots of references to sheep in the best jokes, few of which are on the net, of course .... probably a european plot - i'm just reflecting that the best source i ever saw of newfie jokes is a newfie who hangs out at the local, about six foot four, looks like John Wayne sort of, great fun if you let him get six beers in him and then you pronounce it NUU-fundlund. He too became irish on 17 March [i just realised how this started -g-]
