Hi Dan:

As it turns out I'm also a Waterloo Grad (B. Comp.Sci 1982/Co-op)

I've not heard of Com Dev. But thanks for the tip. I'm a software engineer...so I'm not much help in the wireless area...since it is mostly EE stuff.

I've been interested in the last-mile infra-structure since I've been unable to procure access to broadband. It sure seems to me that wireless is the best(?) and cheapest way to deliver broadband to the millions of customers that will never be served by AT&T or Pacific Bell.

(FYI....if you want to see the health of the DSL and Cable broadband markets have a look at what has happened to ADCT...it is UGLY).

I think this part of the wireless market is poised for growth over the next two years. WirelessHome's WWW page indicated a CPE cost of $600 per. I doubt that AT&T (with it's $60 billion in long-term debt) will be able to finance the build-out their cable plants. It is just prohibitively expensive.
