Keith: About trades and Intel. I'd not seen the trade, but Peace had alerted there were some big ones going down. Some get recorded a bit late if there has been a surge all of a sudden...I really don't know, so Peace or Max may be better able to answer that.

As for the Intel DSL article. I think it is by a newbie or a very uninformed writer. In checking out things and looking for other sources reporting the same I was not able to find anything to back that up, but was able to find this link, which, I believe was worked on as recent as two days ago, the 21th.

intel.com

The G.lite chips have never done well unless they include full rate ADSL, and as you know that has been hashed over the last couple of years on the threads. The successful chipset going forward will be multi-mode multi-port w/G.lite (G.992.2) availability such as Infineons IVAX chip solutions OR The ADI Eagle chipset and others. Remember we need voice and video. So I think that article is out in left field.

Also we know AWRE has fulfilled the needs of their other customers very well. In Oct. 2000 AWRE said this:

"Commenting on other customer developments, Tzannes said: "Contract revenue for the quarter was a record. We now have 11 ADSL chipsets under development with eight semiconductor companies including Intel, Infineon, Legerity (formerly AMD), NEC, Sigmatel and others. Each of these represent an opportunity for future royalties."

Infineon, Sigmatel & ADI have all introduced new chipsets since then...so the odds are good Intel will too...IMHO!
