You may be right in that I may be a little paranoid and overprotective. What I see out their scares me, for the sake of my family. I also lock the doors, even during the day. That, unfortunately, is the most prudent thing to do in today's world.
Well I do this also, and don't consider it a particularly paranoid thing to do. But I find kids are dang smart and dang capable. Sometimes I let them bite off even more than they can chew. More often than not, they find ways to chew anyway, and they grow beyond even my expectations.
Fortunately, my kids still experience life; they ride bikes, swim, play with friends, and I don't even make them wear bubblewrap. Maybe if there weren't the guns out there, that would be one less thing to worry about.
Seriously friend, guns are not your problem. Your lovely daughter is threatened by people who increasingly disrespect themselves. That is the problem. |
