What if people just buy when the price drops to the top of the last cycle? It worked for awhile and perhaps some are just jumping the gun with this cycle downturn since the companies are more profitable?

I had my targets set at $25 for my "safe money" but actually bought some at $39 when my "guts" said we had a bottom in.

Perhaps we are making a head-n-shoulders pattern and AMAT will still visit $25, but... I don't think that will happen unless many, many people are very, very wrong about the economy.

I STILL entertain ideas that the "people with money" want that tax cut and will keep out of the market until they get it or do whatever they can to make the economy appear worse than it is. Perhaps it is just psychological and they are not investing until they get lower taxes which, effectively, raises their ROI?

I DO have to admit that some of these stocks at current estimates for 2002 are awfully expensive looking... ESPECIALLY my favorite LRCX. I may take some profits out of LRCX and perhaps AMAT if we get a strong rally from here with no improvements in the economy.
