Flack,
With a 3yr service contract I'm surprised they did not reinstall Win98 for you. Did a local shop do it? You may want to call Dell and see if Win98 reinstallion is included. Seems to me they should also install Win98 for you. It can be frustrating at times. It takes about an hour and usually local shops do it for $60 - 80.

I don't know what the Dell startup disk does. If it is good it will walk you through this procedure. The process should be the same for all computers. However, The Dell startup disk could have some other drivers that your particular system may need. I don't know. It would probably be best to use it. A standard Win98 startup disk should also work. (you can make one from any working computer)

Dell may also have the disk for your particular computer on their website in downloadable form. I like Dell and they have great support on their website if you have your computer's ID#

Good Luck!
