GST, Supposedly the US recession is caused by excess capital investment, which needs to be worked off (at huge loss to speculators). Fine. But world wide there is huge need for capital investment of every sort. Transportation, communications, health, housing, etc.... The only thing that can cause a global recession is mismanagement and corruption by governments. And that is an independent factor that is always on-going. I'd say the only difference now is the US gov is less inclined to rush to the rescue. However, once the new crowd wake up from their delusion and see the US dragged down by Asia, they will re-enact Clinton and his predecessors. Of course there will be a time lag, and probably much suffering.
