Thanks for posting that Tom! I guess part of the problem is just about every short seller has decided to hit MU over the last few weeks, so thats probably helping it along here as well- because I sure cant see any other reason to buy and hold with so many other less risky plays.. I think we have to deal with a little pain possibly from the report which will probably be fudged in connection with micron electronics, and Maria and the other 'actors' on cnbc :)

and I LOVE this statement from Niles:

Niles is dubious of the claims of that industry DRAM inventories are improving much. Niles told clients he sees scant evidence of a pickup in PC demand and that memory inventory in the communications and networking business is "in terrible shape."

Tom- the only comment im going to make on this is just WAIT for the Cisco warning we all know is coming. I cant speak for companies like Micron or Kingston but at least from the chair I sit in every day- the networkers were such an overwhelming part of our business last year that the unlucky folks like me who dealt with retail/mail order mom and pop buyers were pretty much left to die on the vine.. in fact, the company was anticipating the OEM division to become 80% of our sales.. This was THE reason memory rebounded so sharply..

in an ironic twist, the last 6 months couldnt have been better for me. As prices plunged, and inventories built up- the only orders coming thru for memory were the mom and pops who could now upgrade at 1/4 the price from just 6 months earlier.. Christ- I even took a week off next week in part because I already achieved nearly 100% of my sales quota.. Volume and profits however from these sales as opposed to selling to Cisco or Juniper is night and day so whats good for me is not good for the company.. I have no real inside info to share on actual numbers, so its really all speculation.. but after a small little push to unload some inventory without getting slaughtered, these prices are not going to see a recovery any time soon..

...My week off gets to be spent eating pizza, drinking beer, and painting my new living space.. how exciting! If anyone cares to stop over and help- there will be plent to share, and an extra paint brush :)

no way simple is cutting a profit on this:
