There is the usual jockeying for positioning going on, not only along individual company lines, but along the lines of what type of medium is to be used, too. Not to mention the type of backbone and head end/central office architecture to be used. The latter might differ drastically for 6 Mb/s Ethernet over copper, and one that might use a Gb/s scheme over fiber. Someone here recently sent me something on the last meeting. Let me see if I can locate it and I'll post it if I can.
